Fitting Matted A4 & A3 Prints
Fitting your artwork is a simple process if you know how to do it right.
There are a few easy steps can make this process significantly more simple for all of you at home.
Professional framer's tip: If you have several frames to do, invest in some compressed air in a can to help with dust removal. It will make clearing the glass far simpler.
Step One: Remove the backing
Firstly, wash your hands and make sure they are dry to ensure you don't mark the work.
Start by opening up your new frame and removing the backing. You should never need to remove your glass, so leave it in the frame with the face of the frame facing down. We make the glass super snug to fit the frame, and it will break if you attempt to remove it past the pins.
Step Two: Carefully mount artwork
Mounting your work to the matting is a huge part in keeping your frame looking great for the long haul. The last this you want is your print slipping down!
Follow the steps in THIS article to greatly simplify this process.
Step Three: Check the glass
Check the glass for dust and marks. A clean microfibre cloth is great for getting rid of anything.
DO NOT use any ammonia based glass cleaner products if cleaning UV Glass. It will ghost and damage the protective film making it look hazy and no longer fully protect your work.

Step Four: Place your work
Before placing your mat and backing into the frame, check to make sure there is no dust on the mat or print.
Check there is no dust on the glass, and gently put them back into the frame as a bundle.
Step Five: Seal up frame
Fold down one pin on each side and flip frame over to check for dust. If any dust happens to be there, remove the work and repeat until happy.
Once you have removed all dust from inside the frame, bend down all remaining backing pins to fully secure the frame.
Step Six: Add your hanging kit
