Hanging on D-Rings
Every frame we ship out will come with a hanging kit to ensure you have everything you need to get your work on the wall.
We will send you:
D-rings and screws, the size of which will vary per frame.
Framers string trimmed to fit each frame both portrait and landscape.
2x 9kg brass hooks designed for GIB walls.
Step One: Attach your hanging hardware
Before attaching your d-rings, check that you have put the work in the right way in relation to the pre-drilled holes. These should be closer to the top of the artwork.
Screw d-rings into pre-drilled holes on the frame ensuring the ring faces straight up.
Step Two: Choose your spot on the wall
Hold your frame up to the wall and adjust until you are happy.
Make a tiny mark with a pencil behind the top two corners and put the frame to the side. You will need to be precise with this as the frame will be crooked if your hooks are.
Step Three: Establishing hook placement
Measure from the top of the frame to where your d-ring starts. This will dictate your hook placement.
Using your marks on the wall, measure down the same amount and mark with a pencil to indicate your hook placement.
Step Four: Nail in your hooks
Take your hook and position with the base of the hook sitting in line with your hook marker.
Ensure you line up the base rather than where the nail goes in, as your frame will end up 2cm lower than you intended.
Hammer in your nail, ensuring it goes in at an angle (the holes will guide you).
Repeat for your other hook and d-ring.
Step Five: Hang up the frame
Holding the bottom of the frame in one hand, look behind the frame to guide it onto the hooks.
Ensure both d-ring are sitting firmly in the hook before letting go (you don't want it to end up on the floor!)
If frame is slightly crooked, adjust hooks accordingly until happy.
